“All the public lands granted to the state are held in trust for all the people.”
— Art. 9, Sec. 1 WA Const.
We welcome ALL Washington citizens & constituent groups to join in creating the most wisely managed, conservation oriented, working forests the world has ever seen. Our broad-based coalition and vision unites: liberals, conservatives, independents, bird lovers, fishermen — gear, fly, and commercial — educators, children’s groups, tribal groups, hunters, “ethical environmentalists” in forestry companies and regulatory agencies (eg – DNR, WDFW, DOT, plus USFS, NPS, etc.)), hikers, and nature enthusiasts. Disparate PNW groups are putting aside their differences to unite in common cause to mangage our forests for salmon and wildlife survival and abundance in the climate change era — ONE TREE AT A TIME!

Web Hutchins is the director of the initiative. He’s award winning 25th year Seattle high school history teacher, a writer, and outdoorsman. He started END the DNR Mandate in the spring of 2015 after the Seattle Times published his op-ed essay on the topic. He did his UW thesis on the topic in 1997. CrossCut.org (a Seattle media outlet) published a similar essay by Hutchins just weeks before the 2014 Oso Slide on the North Fork Stillaguamish River. He is actively looking for established organizations and individuals to get involved in what will undoubtedly be a real battle. He eagerly seeks logistical help in this endeavor!
